“มูลนิธิเครือข่ายพุทธิกา” นำโดยพระไพศาล วิสาโร เป็นองค์กรไม่แสวงกำไรซึ่งทำหน้าที่สร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจที่ถูกต้องเกี่ยวกับพระพุทธศาสนา และส่งเสริมการนำหลักพุทธธรรมมาใช้ในชีวิตและพัฒนาสังคม ผ่านงานสื่อสารแนวคิดและกิจกรรมที่เน้นการประยุกต์หลักธรรม

การจะรักษาพระศาสนาให้ยั่งยืนนั้น มิใช่หน้าที่ของคนใดคนหนึ่ง หรือบุคคลกลุ่มใดเพียงกลุ่มหนึ่ง ทั้งมิใช่เป็นความรับผิดชอบที่จำกัดอยู่กับพระสงฆ์หรือรัฐบาลเท่านั้น หากเป็นหน้าที่ของชาวพุทธทุกคน และเป็นความรับผิดชอบที่พระพุทธองค์ทรงมอบหมายแก่พุทธบริษัททั้งหลาย

ดังนั้น เมื่อถึงคราวที่พระพุทธศาสนาประสบภาวะวิกฤติ จึงควรที่ชาวพุทธจะร่วมมือกันเพื่อฟื้นฟูพระพุทธศาสนาให้เจริญงอกงามและกลับมามีความหมายต่อสังคมไทย รวมทั้งยังประโยชน์แก่สังคมโลก

ด้วยเหตุนี้ “เครือข่ายพุทธิกา” จึงเกิดขึ้น เพื่อเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการมีองค์กรประสานงานในภาคประชาชน สำหรับการเคลื่อนไหวผลักดันให้มีการฟื้นฟูพระพุทธศาสนาอย่างจริงจัง และต่อเนื่อง

เครือข่ายพุทธิกา ประกอบด้วย 9 องค์กรเครือข่าย ได้แก่ มูลนิธิโกมลคีมทอง, มูลนิธิเด็ก, มูลนิธิพุทธธรรม, มูลนิธิสุขภาพไทย, มูลนิธิสานแสงอรุณ, มูลนิธิสายใยแผ่นดิน, เสมสิกขาลัย, มูลนิธิเมตตาธรรมรักษ์ และ กลุ่มเสขิยธรรม

เนื่องจากมูลนิธิเครือข่ายพุทธิกาภายใต้การดูแลของพระไพศาล วิสาโร ได้จดทะเบียนเป็นมูลนิธิไม่ถึง 3 ปี ใบอนุโทนาที่ออกจากมูลนิธิ ไม่สามารถนำไปลดหย่อนภาษีได้
