เป้าหมายของกองทุน

กองทุนมุ่งมั่นเพื่อที่จะพัฒนาการยาภูมิคุ้มกันบำบัดรักษาโรคมะเร็ง ทำให้ยาภูมิคุ้มกันบำบัดมีประสิทธิภาพดีมากขึ้นและมีผลข้างเคียงต่ำ โดยคณะแพทย์ต้องการทำยารักษาที่มีราคาพอให้คนไทยสามารถเข้าถึงได้

เกี่ยวกับกองทุน

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย และ โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ สภากาชาดไทย มีความพร้อมและความเชี่ยวชาญ ในด้านการวิจัย การเรียนการสอน และการบริการด้านโรคมะเร็ง โดยมีการจัดตั้งศูนย์มะเร็งครบวงจรแห่งจุฬาลงกรณ์ขึ้น และได้รับเกียรติเข้าร่วมเป็นสถาบันพันธมิตร (Sister Institution) กับ M.D. Anderson Cancer Center มหาวิทยาลัยเท็กซัส ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาซึ่งเป็นสถาบันการแพทย์ด้านมะเร็งวิทยาชั้นนำของโลก โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือในระดับนานาชาติในการค้นคว้าวิจัยด้านโรคมะเร็ง การให้ความรู้ในการป้องกันและรักษาโรคมะเร็งชนิดต่างๆ ซึ่งเป็นปัญหาที่พบมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆในปัจจุบันรวมถึง อนาคต ในปัจจุบันโรงพยาบาลจุฬาฯให้บริการรักษาผู้ป่วยโรคมะเร็งด้วยวิธีที่เป็นมาตรฐานระดับโลก ประกอบกับการมีศูนย์การวินิจฉัยโรคมะเร็งด้วยเทคนิคที่มีความก้าวหน้าทันสมัยและเป็นศูนย์กลางการรับตรวจ จากโรงพยาบาลอื่นๆเพื่อให้ผู้ป่วยโรคมะเร็งมีโอกาสได้รับการรักษาที่ตรงเป้าเหมาะสมมากที่สุด

ศูนย์ความเป็นเลิศด้านภูมิคุ้มกันบำบัดมะเร็ง คณะแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย (CU Cancer Immunotherapy Excellence Center) จึงถูกตั้งขึ้นโดยรวบรวมนักวิจัยและแพทย์ที่เกี่ยวข้องในจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยรวมทั้งร่วมมือกับผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากสถาบันวิจัยและมหาวิทยาลัยระดับโลก เพื่อวิจัยและพัฒนานวัตกรรมการรักษามะเร็งด้วยภูมิคุ้มกันนำบัด ซึ่งที่มีความก้าวหน้าอย่างมากในปัจจุบัน

ศูนย์วิจัยภูมิคุ้มกันบำบัดมะเร็งประกอบด้วยกลุ่มวิจัยย่อยจำนวน 3 กลุ่มงานใหญ่ เพื่อเน้นการพัฒนาการรักษามะเร็งด้านภูมิคุ้มกันบำบัด ได้แก่

1. กลุ่มวิจัยพัฒนาแอนติบอดีเพื่อการรักษา (Therapeutic Antibody Research and Development)
2. กลุ่มวิจัยภูมิคุ้มกันด้านเซลล์บำบัดมะเร็ง (Cancer Cellular Immunotherapy)
3. กลุ่มวิจัยนีโอแอนติเจนและวัคซีนต่อมะเร็ง (Neoantigen and Cancer Vaccine)
