มูลนิธิเพื่อสุนัขในซอย (ซอยด๊อก) ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปีพ.ศ.2546 ณ จังหวัดภูเก็ต ประเทศไทย โดยมีเป้าหมายที่ปรารถนาจะช่วยเหลือสุนัขและแมวจรจัดที่ไร้คนสนใจให้ได้รับการดูแลรักษา ซึ่งมีจำนวนสัตว์จรจัดกว่า 50,000 ตัวทั่วทั้งเกาะ และยังขยายเพิ่มในอัตราที่รวดเร็ว อันเนื่องมาจากการขาดความรู้ความเข้าใจในการทำหมันเพื่อควบคุมประชากร มูลนิธิเพื่อสุนัขในซอยได้ดำเนินการแก้ไขปัญหานี้อย่างมีมนุษยธรรมและยั่งยืน รวมทั้งได้รักษาพยาบาลตามที่จำเป็นอีกด้วย ปัจจุบันเราพยายามขยายพื้นที่การช่วยเหลือไปยังเขตกรุงเทพฯ และปริมณฑล รวมถึงภูมิภาคอื่นๆทั่วประเทศไทย ทุนดำเนินการของมูลนิธิฯ ล้วนได้รับการสนับสนุนจากบุคคลผู้มีความเชื่อมั่นในวิสัยทัศน์เดียวกับผู้ก่อตั้งมูลนิธิฯ ซึ่งอยากสร้างการเปลี่ยนแปลงในชิวิตของสัตว์จรที่ทุกข์ยากเหล่านั้นให้ทุเลาลงและหมดไป

การดำเนินการของเรา

การทำงานกับสัตว์จรจัดประกอบด้วย การจัดการทำหมันเพื่อป้องกันการเกิดใหม่ของลูกสุนัขและลูกแมวที่ไม่เป็นที่ต้องการ พวกเขาจะต้องเกิดมาใช้ชีวิตสั้นๆ แต่เต็มไปด้วยความทุกข์ทรมาน รวมทั้งยังเข้าช่วยชีวิต ดำเนินการฉีดวัคซีน ให้การรักษาพยาบาล ให้ที่พักพิง และดำเนินการขอรับอุปการะ ให้กับเหล่าสัตว์ที่ไม่สามารถกลับคืนถิ่นฐานเดิมได้ 

ในแต่ละปี มูลนิธิฯ ได้ดำเนินการทำหมันและฉีดวัคซีนให้กับสุนัขและแมวจรจัดกว่านับหมื่นตัว โดยนับรวมพื้นที่ ภูเก็ต กรุงเทพฯ และในจังหวัดอื่นๆ ทั่วประเทศไทย ปัจจุบัน ยอดรวมการทำหมันมากกว่า 324,501 ตัว เรากำลังดำเนินการทีมทำหมันสัญจรครอบคลุมเขตพื้นที่กรุงเทพมหานคร  ซึ่งเป็นที่อยู่อาศัยของสุนัขจรจัดกว่า 640,000 ตัว โครงการทำหมันนี้ได้วางเป้าหมายที่จะเปิดทีมทำหมันสัญจรถึง 10 หน่วยพร้อมๆ กันในระยะเวลา 7 ปีตามที่ตั้งเป้าไว้ให้เสร็จสมบูรณ์ 

ยิ่งไปกว่านั้น มูลนิธิฯ ได้ดำเนินการโครงการให้การศึกษาด้านสวัสดิภาพสัตว์ให้แก่โรงเรียนในท้องถิ่นอีกด้วย เราได้สนับสนุนกระตุ้นให้เด็กๆ ได้มองสัตว์ในแง่มุมที่แตกต่างไปจากประชาชนรุ่นก่อนๆ เพื่อนำไปสู่การปฏิบัติต่อสัตว์ให้เปลี่ยนไปในทางที่ดีขึ้น 

มูลนิธิฯ ยังได้เข้าร่วมรณรงค์การปรับปรุงสิทธิด้านสวัสดิภาพสัตว์ทั่วทวีปเอเชีย และพยายามช่วยเหลือสัตว์ที่ตกเป็นผู้เคราะห์ร้าย ไม่ว่าจะเกิดจากภัยธรรมชาติ เช่น เหตุการณ์น้ำท่วมในพื้นที่ภาคใต้ของประเทศไทยเมื่อปี พ.ศ.2560 และเหตุการณ์น้ำท่วมกรุงเทพฯ ในปี พ.ศ.2554 รวมไปถึง ภัยสึนามิของทวีปเอเชียเมื่อปี พ.ศ.2547

มูลนิธิฯ กำลังพยายามต่อสู้เพื่อยุติธุรกิจการค้าเนื้อสุนัขในทวีปเอเชียด้วย และขอขอบคุณน้ำใจอันท่วมท้นจากบุคคลเช่นคุณ ธุรกิจการค้าเนื้อสุนัขในประเทศไทยแทบจะไม่มีหลงเหลือให้เห็นอีกแล้ว เรายังคงดำเนินการต่อไปที่จะยุติการค้าเนื้อสุนัขในประเทศเกาหลีใต้ เวียดนาม และประเทศในแถบเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ที่ยังเปิดดำเนินการกันอย่างมากมาย การดำเนินการในฐานะสมาชิกขององค์กรพันธมิตรพิทักษ์สุนัขแห่งเอเชีย Asia Canine Protection Alliance (ACPA) ซึ่งวางเป้าหมายที่จะกำจัดโรคพิษสุนัขบ้าในประเทศกัมพูชา ลาว ประเทศไทยและเวียดนามให้ได้หมดสิ้นภายในปี พ.ศ.2563 โดยการร่วมมือกับภาครัฐของประเทศเหล่านี้ในการทำให้ธุรกิจการค้าเนื้อ และการบริโภคเนื้อสุนัขและแมวเป็นการกระทำที่ผิดกฎหมาย และเพื่อที่จะลดปริมาณความต้องการบริโภคและการจัดซื้อจัดหาเนื้อสุนัขในประเทศเกาหลีใต้

พันธกิจองค์กร

เพื่อปรับปรุงสวัสดิภาพของสุนัขและแมวในภาคพื้นเอเชีย โดยส่งผลให้มีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีขึ้นทั้งสัตว์และมนุษย์ที่ใช้ชีวิตร่วมกันในชุมชน เพื่อยุติการกระทำการทารุณกรรมต่อสัตว์ เพื่อสร้างสรรค์สังคมที่ปราศจากสัตว์จรจัด และเพื่อยุติการกระทำทารุณกรรมต่อสัตว์อย่างสิ้นเชิง
