มูลนิธิกระจกเงา คือ องค์กรพัฒนาเอกชนที่ทำงานเกี่ยวกับการพัฒนาสังคม หลายๆด้าน ได้แก่ งานด้านสิทธิมนุษยชน งานด้านสื่อและเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ งานพัฒนาอาสาสมัครและการแบ่งปันทรัพยากร เพื่อเพิ่มศักยภาพใน การเรียนรู้และการใช้ชีวิต โดยมีพื้นที่ปฏิบัติงานทั้งบนสังคมออนไลน์ (internet) สังคมเมืองและสังคมชนบท โดยทำหน้าที่เป็นกระจกเงา ที่สะท้อนเรื่องราว ความเป็นจริงของสังคมและให้ความช่วยเหลือผู้ที่ได้รับผล กระทบจาก การเปลี่ยนแปลงของสังคม ด้วยวิธีคิด คือ การสร้างคนและสร้างนวัตกรรม สร้างความมเปลี่ยนแปลงแก่สังคม ดังวิสัยทัศน์ขององค์กร คือ

“สร้างคน” เราจึงสร้างนักกิจกรรมด้วยกระบวนการ อาสาสมัคร เพื่อเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมต่อกิจกรรมทางสังคม เนื่องจาก ปัญหาสังคมในปัจจุบันมีความซับซ้อนและมี ปริมาณมากมายเกินกว่าคนเล็ก ๆ เพียงไม่กี่คนจะแบกรับไว้ได้ และปัญหาสังคมไม่มีทางหมดไป หากผู้คนส่วนใหญ่ไม่ร่วมกันรับรู้และแก้ไข การสร้าง คนจึงเป็นต้นทางของการ แก้ปัญหาสังคม

“สร้างนวัตกรรม” นวัตกรรมเป็นสิ่งที่จะนำไปสู่การเส้นทางใหม่ของสังคม เราจึงสร้างนวัตกรรม เพื่อวิเคราะห์ปัญหา และออกแบบกระบวนการแก้ปัญหาสังคมด้วยกระบวนการมีส่วนร่วมที่สอดคล้อง ไปกับปรากฏการณ์ทางสังคมในปัจจุบัน

“แล้วจะสร้างการเปลี่ยนแปลง” เมื่อได้สร้างนักกิจกรรม นวัตกรรมทางสังคมขึ้นแล้ว การเปลี่ยนแปลงสังคมซึ่งเป็นเป้าหมายที่แท้จริงของการทำงาน ก็จะเริ่มขึ้น นักกิจกรรมที่ได้รับการปรับจูนความคิดที่มุ่งมั่นในการแกปัญหาสังคมร่วมกัน ก็จะเป็นฟันเฟืองที่ขับเคลื่อนสังคมด้วยนวัตกรรมที่หมุนวงล้อของสังคมสู่การ พัฒนาต่อไป เรา จึงให้ความสำคัญกับการรณรงค์และลงมือ จัดการปัญหาต่างๆ

ซึ่งแต่ละปรากฏการณ์ที่เกิดปัญหาย่อมส่งผลกระทบของต่อเนื่องกัน เราจึงมองปัญหาแบบองค์รวม เพื่อที่จะดำเนินการแก้ไขปัญหาต่างๆไปควบคู่กัน โดยใช้เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศเป็นเครื่องมือของการเข้าถึงและเผยแพร่แนวคิดในการ ดำเนินงาน ควบคู่ไปกับการปฏิบัติงานในพื้นที่เพื่อแก้ปัญหาสังคม ปัจจุบันเรามีพื้นที่ปฏิบัติงาน คือ มูลนิธิกระจกเงาสำนักงานเชียงรายและสำนักงานกรุงเทพ ซึ่ง มีก้าวย่างที่เติบโตแต่ละขั้นจวบจนถึงวันนี้
